Hello Church Family,
Happy New Year! As we leave Christmas and enter this new year, I am reminded of the words of Howard Thurman:
“When the song of the angels is stilled, When the star in the sky is gone, When the kings and princes are home, When the shepherds are back with their flock, The work of Christmas begins: To find the lost, To heal the broken, To feed the hungry, To release the prisoner, To rebuild the nations, To bring peace among people, to make music in the heart.”
Howard Thurman wrote this as a reminder to us that while Christmas may be a day on the calendar, the true meaning of Christmas is to be found in how we live our lives, each and every day. The true meaning of Christ’s love for us and his call for us to follow him and use our passion and gifts to serve him in the world is a 365-day commitment. Christ’s coming to us at Christmas means we’ve got work to do. So, let the work of Christmas begin!
Serving Christ with you,
